WIELKI SMUTEK I ROZCZAROWANIE (“Great Sadness and Disappointment”)
Performance
What is it about?
“Wielki smutek i rozczarowanie” (“Great Sadness and Disappointment”) is a performance about a rabbit. But not the one from a magician’s hat. It’s the inner one – the voice in your head that whispers: “you’ll never make it.”
Michalina Krzemianowska and Weronika Kozłowska, acting students, take the audience on a journey through their own (and others’) failures. Without sugarcoating, without a neat ending – but with humor and perspective.
It’s a story about what’s left when a big dream bursts like a bubble. About the critical inner voice that never goes silent. About how, in a world of constant competition, failure becomes a taboo – even though it’s often what shapes us the most.
The performance was created as part of the „Teatr Ożywionej Formy” (“Theater of Animated Form”) class, but it strikes a serious chord – because we all have our own “rabbits.”
By whom?
Michalina Krzemianowska and Weronika Kozłowska are third-year acting students at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw, Białystok Branch. They are the authors of the script and performers of the piece. They work together – seriously, with an ear for the absurd and a heart for the audience.
Artistic supervision: Dr. Karol Smaczny – lecturer at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art, director, and researcher of puppet theater.
Who is it for?
- for adults
- for young people aged 13 and up (the performance contains strong language).
- for those who have failed – and those whose failure is still ahead.
- for people with an inner rabbit – who sometimes have had just about enough of it.
Why is it worth it?
Because laughing through tears can be the best form of therapy.
Because talking about failure is an act of courage and solidarity.
Because it’s a theatrical coming out: yes, we didn’t make it either.
Because the “rabbit” isn’t always right.
