A couple of young artists

Exhibition

What is it about?

The exhibition is a moving story about a generation that enters adulthood without a ready script. It is the voice of young women and men artists who face the uncertainty of tomorrow, technological pressures, loneliness and lack of systemic support. The exhibition will be presented in the former wedding hall of the Pinkus Tenement House – a place of symbolic promises, which in the context of the exhibition are reevaluated and shown from a new perspective.

The event will be accompanied by an open discussion with the participation of invited artists, curators and representatives of the National Forum for Contemporary Art.

By whom?

Artistic Persons:
Aleksandra Demianiuk, Michał Kowalczys, Tomasz Paszkowicz, Natalia Sara Skorupa, Mateusz Pecyna, Kuba Michalak, Zuzanna Szor, Marcjanna Sokołowska, Umysł Biedaka

Galeria Czynna (curatorial team):
Łukasz Ogórek, Marcin Polak, Tomasz Załuski

Who is it for?

  • for those interested in contemporary art, the condition of the younger generation, social change and the role of institutions in building a supportive artistic environment
  • for adults, female and male art students, female and male artists, people working in culture, and to the general public interested in generational change and youth voices

no age restrictions – however, the exhibition touches on difficult topics, so it is recommended for people over 16.

Why is it worth it?

Because the exhibition touches on real problems: housing insecurity, loneliness, cyberbullying, existential fears. Because it is an important voice of the younger generation – a presentation of male and female artists who are just starting out, but already have something important to say. Because the exhibition space matters – the former wedding hall becomes a place for critical questions about the future, not declarations. Because it is also a debate and a diagnosis – with the participation of the artistic and curatorial community.
