The installation and art workshops by French designer Victor Guerithault, created specifically for the 2026 \u0141\u00f3d\u017a of Many Cultures Festival, invite us to reflect together on peace, imagination, and building a world based on openness.<\/p>\n\n
The kites featured in the title speak to one of humanity\u2019s most universal needs\u2014the desire to live in a world free from violence and division. Fluttering above Survivors\u2019 Park, they will become a symbol of hope and a metaphor for the reality we should all strive for together: a world based on solidarity, tolerance, and mutual respect. <\/p>\n\n
An integral part of the project will be open kite-building workshops led by the artist. Participants will not only learn the principles of constructing these extraordinary flying objects, but will also create their own designs, becoming co-creators of the festival space. In this way, the installation will transform into a place for collaborative action, encounters, and creative exchange. <\/p>\n\n
Victor Guerithault\u2014a French designer and artist specializing in kite design and aerial structures. A graduate of the European School of Fine Arts (EESAB) in Rennes. For years, he has been developing his own systems of modular kites, combining design, architecture, and engineering with the idea of collaborative creation. His structures allow for the construction of hundreds of diverse forms, encouraging participants to experiment, collaborate, and engage in creative play. He has collaborated with brands such as Louis Vuitton, Herm\u00e8s, Le Coq Sportif, and Burberry, as well as with festivals, schools, and cultural institutions. <\/p>\n\n
The project is aimed at children, teenagers, families, and anyone who wants to experience art in an open, outdoor setting. The workshops require no prior preparation or experience\u2014their goal is to create together, explore the possibilities of simple structures, and build relationships through creative activity. <\/p>\n\n
The \u0141\u00f3d\u017a of Many Cultures Festival draws on the idea of dialogue and peaceful coexistence among people with different experiences, languages, and identities. \u201cKites for Peace\u201d translates these values into a simple yet deeply evocative gesture of collective action. For centuries, the kite has symbolized freedom, dreams, and the crossing of boundaries\u2014including those we build among ourselves. Victor Guerithault\u2019s installation reminds us that peace is not an abstract concept, but a collective effort that requires imagination, cooperation, and openness. The workshops will allow participants to experience this idea in practice, creating a space where art becomes a tool for building community. <\/p>\n\n
The installation will be on display in the Park of Survivors, on the grounds of the Marek Edelman Dialogue Centre in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a. The event is an outdoor event and is open to the general public. Advance registration is required for the workshops. <\/p>\n\n
