A “NEVER IN YOUR LIFE” STATION!

Family event

What is it about?

Can a horse write songs and “whatifguys” delight in what could just happen? A shared journey through Joanna Kulmowa’s poetry is an encounter with extraordinary imagination, sensitivity to language and attentiveness to the world of nature and children’s emotions.

“The »Never in My Life«?! station“ is a fun-filled family event, combining literary adventure, author workshops and reflection on what it means to be yourself – and how poetry helps.

During the meeting:
– we will learn the story of life and work of Joanna Kulmowa – poet, playwright and author of children’s books, associated with Lodz
– we will look into the world of her poems, full of humming grasses, whispering woods and “thoughts of their own”
– we will try to play with the text together and create our own interpretations
– we will talk about what Kulmowa can convey to today’s children – and their parents

This is a literary station for young and old explorers – with a transfer to the world of imagination.

By whom?

Anna Mrozińska-Szmajda – cultural animator, curator of activities for children and young people, psychotherapist-in-training, member of the Polish Society for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Author of workshop programs and exhibitions. Co-founder of the Kropka+Kreska collective. She values culture for the opportunity to meet, be in attentiveness and nurture curiosity.

Who is it for?

  • For children aged 5-10 with adults
  • for families who want to spend time together, learn about the poetry of Joanna Kulmowa and discover how much joy and freedom the word gives.

The event requires no preparation – just openness and curiosity!

Why is it worth it?

Joanna Kulmowa’s poems are not only classics of children’s literature – they are also an invitation to explore one’s own thoughts and emotions. In a world dominated by fast-paced messages and images, it’s worth stopping for a moment, immersing ourselves in the sounds of language and reminding ourselves what real “being together” looks like. The event builds a bridge between generations – children and adults – through poetry, play and joint creative activity.
