LISTA UCHYBIEŃ (“LIST OF SHORTCOMINGS”)
Performance
What is it about?
The „Lista uchybień” (“List of shortcomings”) is a theatrical voice addressing a topic often whispered about in the cultural sector — exhaustion, workplace bullying, blurred boundaries between work and private life, exclusionary structures, and empty declarations. Created by a team associated with the Association of Theater Educators, the performance is based on real stories — a stage narrative built from interviews with cultural institution employees from across Poland. The starting point is an absurd, yet unfortunately not isolated episode: a document listing accusations that one of the protagonists receives on her first day back from vacation. Instead of dialogue — a list of “corrective” points. Instead of support — a threat of sanctions.
Directed by Pamela Leończyk, the performance is a sharp, emotionally charged, and ironic exploration of burnout, contradictions, and hierarchies that shape the creative industry. Alongside the performance, audiences can also view an exhibition of graphic works by Katarzyna Belczyk — the artist behind the well-known Instagram series potato_face_stories — whose illustrations wittily and precisely capture the absurdities of artistic labor.
