O GRANICACH I SAMOWSPÓŁCZUCIU – ON BOUNDARIES AND SELF-COMPASSION

Well-being workshops for people working in culture

What is it about?

In the dynamic environment of creative and animation work, it is easy to lose sight of the boundaries between commitment and exhaustion. The workshop “On boundaries and self-compassion” is a four-hour meeting designed for people who give a lot of themselves on a daily basis – in cultural institutions, foundations, and educational organizations.

During the workshop, participants will explore their individual needs and limits. They will learn about different types of boundaries that help create healthy professional and personal relationships. They will also work on identifying beliefs that make it difficult to set boundaries and develop self-compassion—the ability to be on your own side during challenging times.

The sessions will be based on practical exercises in assertive communication, mindfulness, and empathetic awareness of one’s own signals. The goal isn’t to achieve perfection but to build authentic connection with yourself and others. Working together will help participants understand that boundaries are not walls, but bridges—a space for dialogue and mutual respect.

By whom?

Małgorzata Ćwirko is a trainer and Gestalt psychotherapist with many years of experience working with clients across various sectors, including public institutions, education, HR, and nonprofit organizations in Poland and abroad.

Marta Olejniczak is a Gestalt psychotherapist, cultural manager, and curator of the well-being program for the Łódź of Many Cultures Festival 2025. She has long been involved in supporting creative individuals and cultural institutions and serves as a supervisor for the festival’s program.

Who is it for?

The workshop is aimed at people working in culture, cultural education, and cultural outreach—both in public institutions and non-governmental organizations. No prior psychological training or workshop experience is required—just a willingness to reflect on your own boundaries and a desire to build a more balanced daily life.

Especially recommended for those experiencing pressure, tension in work relationships, difficulties expressing their needs, or exhaustion caused by a lack of personal space.

Registration: d.dziedzinska@centrumdialogu.com. Places are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Why is it worth it?

In the world of culture, we’re often faced with expectations of constant availability, creativity, and flexibility. Rarely do we have the space to ask ourselves: where do I fit into all of this? The workshops allow you to pause for a moment and focus on yourself – not selfishly, but with care and respect. It is an invitation to learn to say “no” gently, to make requests without feeling guilty, and to understand that our boundaries are not obstacles, but the foundations of healthy relationships.

It’s also an opportunity to practically develop interpersonal skills that support not only well-being but also effective and empathetic collaboration in the workplace.
