RIVER OF CLOTHES
Installation and workshops
What is it about?
“River of Clothes” is an interactive installation created especially for the Łódź of Many Cultures Festival 2025. It is a story about the times we live in, the overproduction of clothing, TikTok culture, consumption, and identity built through style of dress. “River of Clothes” is a large-scale form composed of second-hand clothes, which you can enter, touch, and sometimes even try on. The exhibition is accompanied by guided tours and textile workshops.
By whom?
Martyna Konieczny / No przesada – clothing designer, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. She runs the No przesada brand, which focuses on conscious and recycled fashion. Co-founder of the Działania Foundation, where she runs workshops for children and young people on design, styling, and ecology.
Who is it for?
The event is open to all age groups – especially recommended for young people (12–25 years old), but also open to children (from 6 years old), adults, and seniors. The installation and workshops have been designed to appeal to both those interested in fashion and those who want to learn more about conscious consumption and the impact of trends on the environment.
Why is it worth it?
Because “River of Clothes” is an art form that must be experienced—you can interact with the installation, touch it, try something on, and see “how it works.” Because it teaches through action – workshops and post-exhibition discussions help you understand how your choices affect the world. Because it addresses current issues – fashion from Shein, Temu, and TikTok, the pressure of trends, the fast fashion industry, and its consequences.
